about
After two elementary music teachers, an emerging nurse, and food service worker met at a sync music conference in Chicago last year, they decided to create music together. Channeling their life experiences as well as their individual styles of R&B, Rap, Americana, Blues, Hip-Hop, Electronic, IDM, Classical, and so forth, a Pop song of female empowerment emerged with Afrobeat and EDM leanings. You could say that it sounds like Rihanna, Doechii, Zedd, and Joni Mitchell met at a bar, bonded over shots, and headed to the studio to create a message of power reclamation and self-confidence.
lyrics
Verse 1
Imma need more than a good time and warm body in my bed every two weeks
You got me feelin’ like a paystub, only make withdrawals but you won’t make me lose sleep I got time, I can’t waste
You need time, I won’t wait
Wanna be mine, then I want dates,
We can learn each other’s love language when we’re out the state
What’s it gonna take for you to give me grace? (grace) I’m not your big mistake so please don’t make me wait. You say that you want me,
You gone have to show me,
I got time today but, (I got time) I’m not about to wait
Chorus
Imma need more from you, Imma need more from you Imma need more from you, Imma need more from you
Hold me down but don’t hold me up
Show your crown when you show me love Be my speed but, don’t slow me up
Do for me but, don’t do too much
Bridge
I got a list of demands, you can add to the plans
Don’t hold me back, you know I gotta take a stand
You can’t kill my light, watch my soul take flight
Come on and clear the way, and you can watch me SLAY!
Watch me slay (watch me slay) Just watch me slay (watch me slay) Just watch me slay (watch me slay) Just watch me slay (watch me slay)
Chorus
Imma need more from you, Imma need more from you Imma need more from you, Imma need more from you
Hold me down but don’t hold me up
Show your crown when you show me love Be my speed but, don’t slow me up
Do for me but, don’t do too much
